In 2010, 45 Australian Thalidomide survivors were awarded a new payout of 50 Million Australian Dollars from Diageo, the legacy owner of Distillers. The deal came after two and a half years of negotiations between Ken Youdale, the father of a Thalidomide survivor, and the drug company.
