Dr. Gotthold Werner (head of Grünenthal’s medical and scientific department) and Dr. Günther Sievers (in charge of Thalidomide within the medical and scientific department) contacted a consumer directly, saying that “Contergan doesn’t cause damage to the inner organs, even if it is used over a long period of time.”
