A confidential memo about a meeting between Dr. Heinrich Mückter (head of Grünenthal’s research department) and other senior employees at Grünenthal on January 16, 1961 stated the extreme importance of the “prevention of negative articles about Contergan. […] The exertion of influence on publication dates and text changes for the just discussed articles were coordinated”.
